Much of what is built today is on such a large scale that the human element is almost totally lost. Smaller spaces can not only be cozy, but also beautiful, practical and fun to live in.
How much space do you really need to live well? How much of what you have actually enriches your life and how much of it just ties you down and requires dusting?
I hope this blog to be a travelogue, if you will, of things and ideas that inspire me to reexamine the way I think about living small and living well.

Prefab also is giving rise to new ways of thinking about green and sustainable architecture. Small, modular, mobile and energy efficient, these are the ideas that are going to take us into the next phase of building. To be fair, other countries have been on this track for some time, as they do not have the resources, land, or means of building with the kind of “slap it up and sell it off,” we see so commonly here in the states. But we are catching up and like most things we do, when we get our heads around then, we can achieve some really cool results. This is a great time to be thinking about architecture!
