Much of what is built today is on such a large scale that the human element is almost totally lost. Smaller spaces can not only be cozy, but also beautiful, practical and fun to live in.
How much space do you really need to live well? How much of what you have actually enriches your life and how much of it just ties you down and requires dusting?
I hope this blog to be a travelogue, if you will, of things and ideas that inspire me to reexamine the way I think about living small and living well.

I first spotted these on www.remodelista.com’s April 7th blog and followed the link to the England based company. They use recycled sail and aviation cloth and sustainable managed European Beech wood to create chairs, bags, cushions and more. The company takes an active roll in reducing the carbon footprint of these products by sourcing locally and replanting trees, as well as promoting good trade and labor practices. I also happen to think this is a great product. It combines my love for sailing and furniture all in one. And as the warm weather approaches, my thoughts turn to relaxing in the morning or late afternoon sun. Insert coffee or a good beer here!
